Basic settings and opening hours

Introduction and orientation

Location name, opening hours, display operation and time available for campaigns.

Steps and settings

Opening hours are more than an organisational setting. At closing time, the player deliberately stops transmitting the video signal over HDMI. A commercial display configured to respond to the presence of an HDMI signal then enters Standby mode and turns off the image. At the start of the next opening period, the player resumes transmitting the HDMI signal, waking the display and restoring the image.

The system thereby also controls screen operating hours, defines the period during which campaigns accumulate impressions, reduces unnecessary operation outside opening hours and helps prolong the life of the commercial display. Opening hours therefore also affect the time actually available for campaign scheduling and delivery.

  1. Open the location and edit its name.
  2. Set opening hours for each day. Enable or disable operation for each day, and set the start and end times.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Check screen operation. Remember that this setting does more than define a value in the administration interface: it also defines screen operating hours and the time available for campaign delivery.

Example: if the premises are open Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00 and closed at weekends, enable weekdays from 08:00 to 18:00 and disable Saturday and Sunday.
